Extension Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 4, 2026 · Applies to the BreakCheck Chrome and Firefox browser extension.
What data we collect
The extension reads the seller's public username that is already visible on the page you are viewing (for example, a Whatnot streamer's handle or an eBay seller ID). This handle is sent to https://breakcheck.gg/api/extension/lookup to retrieve the seller's Trust Score, cert status, and scam alert count.
We do not collect: your identity, browsing history, keystrokes, passwords, payment information, or any other personal data. We do not track which pages you visit beyond the seller handle sent during a lookup.
How data is used
Seller handles are used solely to look up BreakCheck profile data and return it to the extension UI. Lookup results are cached in your browser's memory for up to 5 minutes to reduce redundant requests. No lookup data is stored on BreakCheck servers beyond standard server access logs.
Permissions explained

Third-party sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party. The extension communicates only with breakcheck.gg.
Children's privacy
BreakCheck is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy, we will update the effective date above and post a notice in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance.
